A unique atmosphere
A renowned meeting point for Milanese locals, travelers, and distinguished personalities, Caffè Panzera is a place where history and modernity blend harmoniously. Renovated over the years without ever losing its original charm, it continues to welcome a loyal clientele from every corner of the world. Its elegant and dynamic atmosphere reflects the spirit of the city, a place of departures and arrivals.
Affectionately known as “il Panzera” by the Milanese, it opened in 1931, the same year the Central Railway Station was inaugurated. Designed by Architect Rino Ferrini, a respected interpreter of Milanese style until the Second World War (during those years he signed numerous projects such as the Casa della Fontana in Viale Vittorio Veneto, or the apartment building in Via Carducci 12). The interiors were characterized by a counter made of Plimax aluminum and copper, while the pastry counter was made of striped walnut, crystal, and Aluminum. Above the counter hung a sports-themed painting by Arturo Songa, a famous Milanese artist active in the 1920s and ’30s.
